Every Crystelle DIY bracelet begins as a handful of carefully chosen beads and ends as something deeply personal. But what happens in between? In this behind-the-scenes guide, we walk you through the entire handcrafting process — from selecting raw crystal beads to the moment your finished bracelet is ready to wear or gift.
Stage 1: Crystal Sourcing & Selection
It all starts with the crystals themselves. We source our beads from trusted suppliers who prioritize ethical mining and consistent quality. Each batch is reviewed for color clarity, surface finish, and energy integrity before it ever enters our studio.
Popular crystals in our collection include:
- Amethyst — Deep purple tones, prized for calm and clarity.
- Rose Quartz — Soft pink hues, the classic stone of love and compassion.
- Labradorite — Iridescent flash, associated with transformation and intuition.
- Tiger's Eye — Golden stripes, known for confidence and focus.
- Clear Quartz — Pure and amplifying, the universal crystal companion.
Stage 2: Custom Design Consultation
For custom orders, this is where the magic really begins. We work with you to understand your intention, aesthetic preferences, and lifestyle before recommending a crystal combination. Whether you're drawn to a monochromatic palette or love the contrast of mixed stones, we help you build a design that feels uniquely yours.
Key decisions at this stage include:
- Crystal type and combination
- Bead size (6mm, 8mm, or 10mm)
- Accent bead style (gold, silver, copper, or charm beads)
- Wrist size and fit preference
Stage 3: Bead Preparation
Once the design is confirmed, each bead is individually inspected and cleaned. We check for chips, inconsistent sizing, or surface imperfections — anything that doesn't meet our standard is set aside. Only the best beads make it onto your bracelet.
Beads are then laid out in sequence so the pattern, proportion, and colour flow can be reviewed before stringing begins. This step is often overlooked, but it's what gives a finished bracelet that polished, intentional look.
Stage 4: Stringing & Knotting
We string all our bracelets on high-quality elastic cord chosen for its strength and flexibility. The cord gauge is matched to the bead hole size to ensure a snug, secure fit without putting stress on the crystal.
Each bracelet is hand-strung bead by bead, with gold or silver accent spacers placed at measured intervals. Once fully strung, the bracelet is finished with a surgeon's knot — tied tightly, secured with a drop of jewellery glue, and tucked neatly inside a bead so the knot is completely hidden from view.
Stage 5: Quality Check & Sizing Verification
Before packaging, every bracelet goes through a final quality check. We verify:
- Bead alignment and pattern consistency
- Knot security (the bracelet is gently stretched to test elasticity)
- Overall circumference against the customer's wrist measurement
- Surface cleanliness — beads are wiped and polished before packing
Stage 6: Cleansing & Intention Setting
Before your bracelet leaves our studio, we cleanse each piece energetically. We use sound cleansing with a singing bowl to clear any residual energy from the crafting process, leaving your crystals fresh, neutral, and ready to attune to your personal energy.
For custom orders, we also incorporate a short intention-setting ritual — holding the bracelet and focusing on the purpose you shared with us during your consultation. It's a small step, but one that matters to us deeply.
Stage 7: Packaging & Dispatch
Your finished bracelet is placed in a soft velvet pouch, accompanied by a crystal meaning card that describes the properties of each stone in your design. Orders are then carefully packed and shipped with tracking so you always know where your piece is.
